I began my experience as a Disc Jockey when I was 13. I’d play at the local Boys Club and YMCA. I’d help with providing the music for events such as Xmas, Valentines Day, and Halloween. As I got older, I began to do house parties. I was dedicated; you had to be to carry all those crates of vinyl. I moved to South Florida 15 years ago, I sold all my vinyl to a collector and began building a CD collection and was introduced to the entertainment industry of being a Disc Jockey in South Florida, and then I began looking for work on cruise lines. That didn’t go so well so I hit the club scene. That was a lot of fun, but it involved more work, and not enough pay. I finally landed a luxurious gig; it was a walk-in for a high end restaurant. It was the dream job, I entertained some celebrities and high profile people they loved me and my music selection so much that they treated me with much respect and they showed it when they would tip me. Things where going so well the management decided to open a back room for private parties. In doing private parties I realized the real money was in the private parties and events. So, I invested in the latest state of the art sound system that’s completely mobile. Now I can put a professional sound system with a nightclub sound anywhere you can give me power. I managed the music in the back room and all the music upfront for the establishment. I managed it so well; I was offered the job as a backstage manager for an entertainment complex that seated over 28,000 people. I thought it was a great opportunity. I have worked with artists as big as The Rolling Stones, and organizations such as the WWE, NFL and the NBA to name a few. But nothing was more fun than being a Professional Disc Jockey; so I returned to South Florida to be a Professional Disc Jockey, and out of all of my life’s experiences, being a Professional Disc Jockey is the best! My biggest tip has been $500, and my best experience as a Disc Jockey is playing music for the celebrities and watching them party to my music selection and every time I have to stop the party they always want more. I’m always the star at all my parties. I am presently working with Whatamix Entertainment Services here in Miami, Florida http://www.whatamix.com and it has been a great experience for me. The staff at Whatamix is very professional and they do know how to treat their clients. I can say that Whatamix has given me a chance to work my dream job. I absolutely LOVE what I do!!!
